As if 2019 hasn’t been tough enough yet on retailers (see here, and here), it turns out a few of them (unnamed) have had a visit of the authorities late last week.
The ‘visits’ consisted of several unannounced raids and seizures at a number of retailers. The retailers are suspected of having implemented anti-competitive practices in the luxury watch distribution sector.
The authorities clarified: “at this stage, these interventions obviously do not prejudge the guilt of the companies concerned by the alleged practices […] The Authority will not make any other comment on the identity of the companies visited or the practices targeted. “
