A few days ago Omega has confirmed it is extending its warranty on all new watches to 5 years. Keep in mind, this only applies to new watches purchased as from 1 July 2018.
As per Omega’s statement “Along with the enhanced quality of OMEGA’s watches, it has been just one year since the brand opened its most modern industrial factory at its HQ site in Bienne, Switzerland. As well as assembly, the site provides new testing and quality control facilities that examine many of the brand’s timepieces in greater detail than ever before”. The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects, no user inflicted damage of course.
By doing this it is joining Rolex which has been offering a 5 year warranty on all its watches since mid 2015.
