News: HourUniverse, Successor To Baselworld?!

Ever since the cancelation of Baselworld 2020 in March, many have wondered what will take place for the annual watch and jewelry show.  Now, MCH Group, the parent company behind Baselworld released news that HourUniverse will take the place of Baselworld next April.

According to MCH Group, HourUniverse will be a new concept with a focus on the customer.  This is a much welcomed change as the previous Baselworld shows were focused primarily on the business side with authorized dealers and media and less on the end customers except a few of the independent brands.

“The new concept is a B2B2C meeting point that places the customer at the heart of its focus, reversing the order of the past. The entire platform is thought out and designed around the customer. This applies to all players of the distribution chain, traditional and online retailers, including those of the certified Pre-Owned.”

In addition to the actual fair held in Switzerland, HourUniverse will bring a new digital platform to bring the show online throughout the year with consumer experiences in mind. “A community platform that creates bridgesBridges The bridges of a watch movement are the metal plates that hold the wheels and other components of the movement in place. They are attached to the main plate of the movement with screws. Bridges are used to support the balance wheel, the escapement, the mainspring barrel and other elements. Combined with the main plate they are the foundation of any watch movement. [Learn More] between buyers and sellers and all the players in the industry, it is also a place that encourages exchanges, information-sharing, content creation, reflection through talks and conferences that also provide visibility for brands and their products. “
