News: LVMH Watch Week Kicks Off In Dubai

SIHH used to be what keeps our horological hearts nice and warm in the cold wintery month of January. Those days are long gone however, SIHH has since been rebranded as ‘Watches and Wonders’ and moved to April. As this is a bit late in the year to make big announcements, LVMH has just kicked off LVMH Watch Week in Dubai. This is where LVMH owned Hublot, Zenith, Bulgari and TAG Heuer will present some of their novelties for 2020. The event is hosted at the not-too-shabby Bulgari Resort in Dubai.

For TAG Heuer, celebrating its 160th birthday, it will be interesting to see what Mr. Bianchi will be presenting. He has made it quite clear that he wants to do things differently from his predecessor, Mr Jean-Claude Biver. No more Alec Monopoly nor Cara Delevigne. The new chief wants to embrace the brand’s maverick identity.

Bulgari, more linked to jewellery than watches, has been on a roll the past few years with very strong releases such as the Octo range and the ever-delicious Serpenti to name a few. Surely we will be seeing new additions to both collections and I am curious to see what else we might be seeing. Hublot will at the very least be adding Big Bang Integral, a Hublot with integrated bracelet. I’m mighty curious to see the end-result. Zenith will present a limited edition in cooperation with DJ Carl Cox, the Defy 21 Carl Cox.
