After a few months of silence and uncertainty, we’re excited to say it: The shop is back! If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been, the short story is that moving our workshop took much longer than expected and we ran into a few other issues along the way. All good now 🙂
While we were adjusting to the new space, one of our key suppliers—a tannery we’ve worked closely with for years—was bought out by a luxury conglomerate, which led to a sudden halt in the supply of a specific bark-tanned leather we relied on. However, we’re excited to share that we’ve managed to re-establish a long-term working relationship and added new top-of-the-class Italian tanneries to our raw material suppliers list. It took time, but it was essential for us to ensure that we would continue working with only the finest materials.
While navigating these challenges, we didn’t lose sight of the future. In fact, we’ve been hard at work creating new pieces for the shop, and we’re incredibly excited to share them with you. One of the most anticipated releases are our (fantastic, if I may say so) DE GRIFF strap storage boxes, which are available in limited quantities right now. These are the same boxes you may have seen at some sales points around town. We’ve had so many requests for these that we decided to produce a limited run in both versions.
Each box has been crafted with the same attention to detail and quality materials that you’ve come to expect from us, and in our signature DE GRIFF yellow. However, quantities are limited for now, and once they’re gone, we can’t guarantee a second run—so if you’ve had your eye on one, don’t hesitate. That said, we’re keeping a close watch on demand, and if there’s enough interest, we may do a second round of production. If you miss out this time, feel free to reach out and we may consider making a list for the second batch.
Additionally, we’ve spent considerable time revamping some of our most popular collections. Among those is our Racing Strap line, which had been a customer favorite but admittedly became a little neglected in recent months – with just a few limited options to choose from. We’re happy to announce that the Racing Straps are back, and this time, they’re better than ever. We’ve expanded the collection to include a wider range of colors, making the selection more vibrant and varied than before. As always, these straps are crafted from the finest Italian bark-tanned leather, and every strap is meticulously handcrafted here in Belgium, with each hole punch individually made by hand.
Throughout all of this, one of the things that kept us going was hearing from so many of you. Even during our downtime, we received a flood of emails from customers & friends checking in, asking how we were, and inquiring when the shop would reopen. To say we were touched would be an understatement. Your support and encouragement truly meant the world. We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a loyal and engaged community, and it’s a big part of why we do what we do.
As a small gesture of thanks for your patience and continued enthusiasm, we’re offering something special for the first wave of orders placed now that we’ve reopened. For a limited time, orders over EUR 120 will be shipped with a complimentary leather pouch (made in Belgium), which also doubles as a watch pouch (when your watch is on a strap). These pouches serve as a little thank-you from us to you. We’ll be including them with orders while supplies last, so if you’re placing an order soon, there’s a good chance you’ll receive this special treat. Please note that there is a limit of one pouch per order.
Looking ahead, there’s even more in store. We’ve been working on several new projects that we can’t wait to unveil in the coming months. We’ve put a lot of thought and care into these upcoming releases, and we think you’ll be just as thrilled as we are when you see what’s next.
