The NOMOS Club Campus series has been around since 2017, since then we’ve seen a variety of colors added to this wonderful family of watches over the years. The colors have ranged from muted to downright funky. The latest colors to join the Club Campus Series are the Deep Pink and Blue Purple colors. Available in 36 and 38.5mm diameter, this means we are seeing four new arrivals joining the NOMOS collection.

We have written a lot about NOMOS on DE GRIFF, as we are a bit of a fan over here. The Campus has also been covered extensively in the past, so I will not rehash every single detail that makes the NOMOS Campus an excellent watch for anyone looking for a quality watch that will stand the test of time. I do of course invite you to check out the detailed write-ups (linked throughout this article) covering this model right here on DE GRIFF.

The dials are both rather funky (in a good way) if I may say so. The pink has a pop to it and really grabs the attention, whereas the Blue Purple (talk about a funky name) is slightly more muted, especially when put next to the Deep Pink dial. Both dials share the same colored seconds hand, which adds another splash of color at 6 o clock. As with the Campus versions of past years, we are seeing the familiar California style dial layout. It offers a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals to display the time.
A Club is not a Club if you can’t take it for a swim, and as a result the watches are water resistant up to 100 meters. You might want to swap straps before diving in the pool however as both come on the typical (good) quality NOMOS straps.

As we are talking NOMOS, kind reminder that all their calibers are manufactured in-house (in their manufacture based in Glashutte). In this case the Club Campus comes with NOMOS’ alpha caliberCaliber The caliber ('movement') is the heart and engine of a watch. It consists of a number of interconnected components that work together. Energy is transmitted through the gear train, to the escapement mechanism. The escapement mechanism releases this energy in a controlled manner. This drives the gear train, which ultimately rotates the hands of the watch and keeps time. [More Info], its workhorse manual wound movement. The movement can not be seen through the caseback, as the Club Campus comes standard with a steel caseback. On the plus side, the steel caseback can be engraved with a custom message if so desired.

NOMOS has slowly been expanding the Club (Campus) series with new and striking colors, which in this case can only be considered a good thing. I also very much applaud the decision of NOMOS to release both these watches in 36mm and 38.5mm. To the Deep Pink and the Blue Purple I can only say one thing: Welcome to the Club!
