SalonQP is a relatively small scale and intimate event focused around watchmaking. It takes place annually in London,. Its smaller scale means you don’t find all brands at their event, but you do get an unparalleled access to the men & women behind the brands. It was also on our travel agenda for 2019 for this and many other reasons, it holds a special place in our horological hearts here. For this year’s edition however, we received the following update from the organization:
“We are disappointed to announce that the Saatchi Gallery is no longer able to host SalonQP 2019 on the dates previously confirmed with us (10th-12th October) due to an unexpected and conflicting arrangement. The gallery is unable to offer us alternative availability this autumn/winter due to their resident exhibition.”
As such, it seems it is a misalignment between the agendas of the Saatchi Gallery and SalonQP that is the cause for the unfortunate cancellation.
“Given this untimely news, and our commitment to continue hosting a premium large-scale exhibition, we have taken the decision to defer SalonQP until 2020. We appreciate this is disappointing news, but we remain fully focussed on making SalonQP the biggest, most engaging and immersive consumer-facing watch and jewellery experience in Europe. To that end, we will shortly be announcing our plans for SalonQP 2020 and how we will build on the success of the 2018 event. In parallel, we have a number of other exciting QP-branded experiences in the pipeline. More details will be announced in due course. “
The good news is that this shouldn’t be the end, and they will be back in full force in 2020.
