Release: A. LANGE & SÖHNE ODYSSEUS Now In White Gold On A Strap

With the introduction of the Odysseus last year as Lange entered into the luxury sports watch arena, there was much anticipation regarding what the brand might do next.  For 2020, Lange introduces a white gold version of the Odysseus with a grey dial on either leather or rubber strap.

To differentiate between the different models besides the obvious dial colors, you can also see that Lange changed the dial patterns.  The center of the dial is not as pronounced grain but a more smoothed grained tone.  Instead of a circular rings that go from the center to the edge of the case, it is now a radial pattern.  Of course, the day and date wheel color matches the dial as expected.

The leather strap it comes with is nice but not much difference compared with other Lange leather straps.  The rubber strap is where things get interesting as you can see the raised areas on the underside to allow ventilation when wearing the watch.

The new white gold model is fitted with the same automatic L155.1 movement as the steel variant.  Instead of a balance cockBalance Cock The balance cock holds the balance spring (or hairspring) in place and allows it to be adjusted. The balance cock is attached to the main plate of the movement and sits above the balance wheel. It serves as the base for the hairspring and the mechanism that allows regulating the timekeeping of the watch. [Learn More] in the manual wind movement, the L155.1 is fitted with a balance bridgeBalance Bridge The balance bridge holds the balance wheel in place and connects it to the main plate of the movement. It serves as a key support for the balance wheel. [Learn More] to protect against shock.  The finishing is typical Lange, with fine beveling on the edges and decorations on the bridgesBridges The bridges of a watch movement are the metal plates that hold the wheels and other components of the movement in place. They are attached to the main plate of the movement with screws. Bridges are used to support the balance wheel, the escapement, the mainspring barrel and other elements. Combined with the main plate they are the foundation of any watch movement. The watch is priced at 39,500 Euros and will be available soon in authorized dealers and boutiques.
