We’re thrilled to unveil the Weathered Strap Series. As always, these straps are crafted from the highest quality bark-tanned leather, carefully selected for its natural strength and character. We have been making these on demand for quite some time, but never quite took the time to add them to the shop for some reason. As of today you can find these in the shop in the Artisan collection.
Each strap is hand-burnished and weathered, a meticulous process that gives them a worn-in, lived-in look, without sacrificing durability. In fact, strangely enough, this weathering makes the leather even tougher than in its natural state, rough and tough indeed. This results in straps that look absolutely glorious on the wrist, each one telling a story of craftsmanship and adventure. Among them, my personal favorite, against all odds, is the purple strap. Wild, unexpected, and absolutely splendid when worn on the wrist.
Like all our leather goods, the Weathered Series is handmade in our atelier in Belgium. Every strap is carefully cut, stitched, and finished in our workshop – from start to finish – ensuring that each piece meets our exacting standards of quality and character. Not a single machine is used in the creation of this series, these are designed and built to last.
The leather we use comes from Tuscany, Italy, and is bark-tanned, a centuries-old method using natural tannins extracted from tree bark. This process produces leather that is exceptionally supple, durable, and rich in character, developing a unique patina over time. Tuscan bark-tanned leather is renowned worldwide for its luxurious feel, subtle fragrance, and depth of color, qualities that make it a perfect match for our Weathered Series. This is the same type of leather we use for virtually all leather products in our shop.
